Visiting Puerto Princesa, Philippines

Puerto Princesa is the capital of the island province of Palawan, Philippines. It is considered the cleanest and greenest city in the country, a magnet for beach lovers and eco adventurers.

The easiest way to get to Puerto Princesa is by plane, via Manila. So, first of all, look for cheap flights to Manila and then book a flight into Puerto Princesa. Among the airlines flying here are: Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines and Zest Air (all offering daily flights between the two cities).

Also make sure to look for hotels in the Philippines ; you might want to consider staying in Manila for several days before heading to Puerto Princesa.

Once the travel plans made, it’s time to plan what you’ll do during the vacation. Honda Bay is the place to go to if you are looking for beach activities. You can swim, snorkel and enjoy the sun.

Make sure to visit the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, which is a center dedicated to crocodiles. It also features a mini-zoo which comprises some of Palawan’s endemic species of wildlife. Don’t miss the Underground River either. It is the longest underground river in the world and probably Puerto Princesa’s most popular attraction.

Allow some time to check out the local products and maybe bring back home some interesting souvenirs.

When it comes to planning your budget, here’s what you need to consider. A round trip flight from Hong Kong starts at $551 on Philippine Air (with one stop in Manila), while hotel rooms in Puerto Princesa start at $44 per night (3-star). Of course you need to add the cost of food and other activities you are planning to do.
