Re-Introduction to Your Hong Kong Blogger

I received some feedback that I should expand my introduction and after re-reading it I agree with the critics.

Who am I to offer information, musings and opinions about Hong Kong?

I’m Ed Hahn, a U.S. citizen and 13 year Permanent Resident here in Hong Kong. Before Hong Kong I lived in both Southern and Northern California. I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduated from UW, Madison, and moved to California in 1962.

I am a retired management consultant, married to the lovely Pamela Jones who is still, by choice, caught up in the daily grind. Since I abhor “credentialism,” I will only say that I have 45 years of experience as an inveterate traveler, consultant, corporate manager and psychological counselor.

I have been traveling almost all my adult life. For the last 25 years, most of that travel has been outside the U.S. I believe the experience has helped me see things in a slightly different way. I have few illusions and many enthusiasms. I plan to share both my critiques and my endorsements in this Blog. I may even comment on other happenings in Southeast Asia, if for no other reason than to illustrate a contrast with Hong Kong.

I hope you will find the offerings here entertaining, at least a little bit valuable, and worthy of the time you spend reading them. I also hope I can make you chuckle from time to time with my attempts at irony. There is much to criticize as there is much to praise. My tongue-in-cheek comments are meant to get you thinking, perhaps a little differently, about the places, people and things I describe.

I want comments from you whether you agree or disagree with what I have to say. I also want corrections and additional information where appropriate.
