The Partying Has Started - Sevens Rugby Weekend in Hong Kong

Three days until the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.

Teams from Wales, Argentina, England, Australia, Canada, and Hong Kong are all being honored at parties in the next two days. Ranging from formal dinners at the Hong Kong Football Club (England, of course) to a beer blowout at the Cavern Bar in Lan Kwai Fong (Canada, of course) each team and their supporters will have an opportunity to celebrate before the reality of the final results.

I am unaware of any parties for the always disappointing, U.S. Eagles team. I guess I’ll have to join the Canadians at the Cavern. This is good. It’s only two city blocks from my flat.

One other “don’t miss” event is the sixth annual Kiwanis breakfast at the Caroline Hill Road Athletic Fields across from the stadium. Saturday and Sunday between 8:30 and 11:30 AM and for HK$75.00 (kids, HK$50.00), you can eat all the buttermilk pancakes, bacon (Canadian style, I assume), sausage (British bangers, I assume) you could possibly want. Coffee or tea is included in the price. The proceeds go to the Kiwanis Charitable Foundation.

What a deal! What a weekend!
