Find out which airlines use Hong Kong as a hub – Sometimes the airlines which use certain airports as hubs will offer deals on airfare to and from those cities, because they’re flying in and out so often. This isn’t always the case, but it’s always a good idea to check. Hong Kong International Airport is the primary hub for Cathay Pacific, Dragonair, Hong Kong Express Airways, Hong Kong Airlines, Oasis Hong Kong Airlines and Air Hong Kong, among others. If any of these airlines fly out of your local airport, definitely check to see whether they offer deals on airfare to Hong Kong.
  2. Fly into a different city – Sometimes flying into a different city and then taking a short flight to your final destination is a way to save money on airfare. You might, for instance, find a great deal on a flight to nearby Macau or Shenzhen, from which you can get to Hong Kong easily. Yes, Hong Kong is the biggest airport in the area, but it can’t hurt to look around at some of the smaller airports in cities close by.
  3. Schedule your flights for midweek – There are certain days which are always busier in airports – weekends are popular with leisure travelers, and Mondays are popular with business travelers.
